Elaine Alexander
Hi, I’m Elaine.
I work with people carrying grief, including the complicated kind that follows a suicide loss. I also work with people who feel stuck in their relationships or are dating and haven’t found what they’re looking for yet.
Many of the people I work with look like they have it together. And in many ways, they do. But privately, they’re exhausted and lonely. They’ve spent so long managing other people’s moods, choosing their words carefully, and shrinking themselves to keep the peace that they’ve lost touch with who they actually are underneath all of that. They might be surrounded by people and still feel profoundly alone, unseen in the relationships that are supposed to matter most. And underneath everything, there’s a fear they don’t always say out loud: that this is just how it will always be, and that they’ll end up alone.
Before I became a therapist, I spent twenty years as an entrepreneur while navigating burnout, financial pressure, losing a family member to suicide, and becoming a wife and mother in my 40s. I know what it means to keep going when life is heavy.
My approach is attachment-based and trauma-informed, with additional training in Trauma of Money, Timeline Therapy, and Hypnotherapy. Sessions are conversational and about understanding the patterns you’re ready to stop repeating.
Sliding scale is available.

Welcome and Thank you! Over the past 8 years I have expanded my knowledge of people and what they go through in their day to day lives. I am a recent graduate of the Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology program at Yorkville University, working under the supervision of Aline Maia, Registered Psychotherapist (MA, M.Ed, CC-PMH).
I work well with individuals who may be struggling with anxiety, self-doubt, life transitions, or challenging family relationships. Many of my clients deeply love their parents or family members, yet find themselves navigating relationships that feel complicated, painful, or emotionally draining. They may be questioning what a healthy relationship with a parent looks like, grieving the relationship they wish they had, or learning how to set boundaries while still maintaining connection. Together, we create a safe space to explore these experiences, gain clarity, and determine what feels right for you.
I offer a warm, nonjudgmental environment where you can openly process life’s challenges and relationship dynamics. Drawing from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS), I help clients understand patterns that may be keeping them stuck, develop healthier boundaries, navigate family conflict, and cultivate self-compassion. Whether you’re working through anxiety, managing difficult family relationships, or creating a healthier foundation for your own future relationships and family, we’ll work together to identify what aligns with your values and well-being.
I understand that reaching out for support can feel overwhelming, especially when you’re carrying the weight of difficult emotions or complex family experiences. You don’t have to navigate it alone. Therapy can be a place to feel heard, understood, and supported as you work toward healing, greater self-trust, and relationships that feel healthier and more authentic. If you’re ready to take that next step, I would be honoured to walk alongside you.

Hi, I’m Carlos Maalouf, a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology student at Yorkville University, practicing under the supervision of Aline Maia, RP. I bring a blend of professional training and deep lived experience to my work, including navigating my own journey with ADHD and the complexities of growing up in a multicultural (Mexican and Lebanese) household. These experiences allow me to offer a practical, empathetic, and culturally humble perspective to those I support.
My approach is collaborative and client-centered, primarily drawing from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and humanistic values. I focus on helping you develop a healthier relationship with difficult thoughts and emotions while building strategies for focus, regulation, and daily functioning. Intern, RP(Q)
I am a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology student at Yorkville University, working toward registration as a psychotherapist under the supervision of Aline Maia, Registered Psychotherapist (MA, M.Ed, CC-PMH).
I am passionate about supporting adults, particularly those navigating pregnancy, postpartum, and the early years of parenting, through periods of transition, overwhelm, and identity change. Becoming a parent can bring profound joy, but it can also surface anxiety, grief, burnout, and a sense of losing oneself. As a mother of three and a trained Birth Support Companion, I understand firsthand how emotionally complex this season of life can be, and how much support it can take just to feel steady again.
Before entering the counselling field, I worked in both nonprofit and corporate settings. These experiences shaped my understanding of resilience, burnout, competing demands, and the pressure many people feel to “hold everything together” while quietly struggling. This perspective continues to inform my work with clients who are balancing caregiving, work, relationships, and their own well-being.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and tailored to each client. Grounded in person-centred therapy, I integrate attachment-based perspectives, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and nervous system–informed approaches to support emotional regulation, connection, and meaningful change. My goal is to create a space where you can show up exactly as you are and feel supported in taking gentle, practical steps forward.
I provide virtual sessions on Wednesdays and Fridays to clients across Ontario.
